Liam Hendriks

Sunday was a very special day for Chicago White Sox reliever Liam Hendriks. The 34-year-old, who returned to the diamond last week after a battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, turned in a scoreless ninth inning against the Detroit Tigers. Thanks to a Jake Burger walk-off grand slam, Hendriks was the winning pitcher, his first victory of 2023. Sunday also happened to be National Cancer Survivors Day - which the pitcher celebrated in style. "Hopefully, I can continue moving forward and doing somewhat the right thing on the field and give some people some hope to continue fighting," said Hendriks.
