The New York Yankees 12th-ranked prospect proved he was worth the hype on Thursday night. Randy Vásquez made his second Major League appearance against the Chicago White Sox in the night game of a day/night doubleheader and was lights out, pitching five and two-thirds scoreless innings. He allowed just two hits and, at one point, retired 15 consecutive batters during his performance, finishing the game with an impressive 1.74 ERA. Vásquez’s arm earned him the first victory of his MLB career, and a win for his Club, 3-0.
