Javier Báez joined an elite class of hitters Thursday night as his squad took on the Kansas City Royals. In the bottom of the third inning, the shortstop stepped up and delivered a line-drive RBI single. The run-scoring knock marked the 1,000 hit of the two-time MLB All-Star’s career. He is now one of 59 active players with at least 1,000 career hits.
