First-ever F1 podium

Oscar Piastri claimed his first podium in F1® at the FORMULA 1 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX 2023. The debutant has been in excellent form during his first season in F1®, but went one better in Japan by finishing in P3. The Australian produced a spectacular performance in qualifying to start the race in P2 and kept pace with race leader Max Verstappen and teammate Lando Norris throughout. An effective tyre strategy and the high-performance of the McLaren F1® Team car meant that Piastri finished on the podium for the first time. It won’t be the last either.
