The Atlanta Braves pulled off the first triple play of the 2023 season last night against the Boston Red Sox and it was historic at that. Outfielder Michael Harris II snagged a shallow fly ball in the third inning and gunned it to first base to double up Adam Duvall. First baseman Matt Olson then fired the ball to third base where Austin Riley easily tagged out Masataka Yoshida to complete just the second 8-3-5 triple play in MLB history. Ironically, this first happened with a Boston-based team, the Boston Beaneaters, who pulled off the trick against the Providence Grays in 1884.
