Just one day after beltling a grand slam against Team Venezuela in the quarterfinals of the 2023 World Baseball Classic, Trea Turner made lightning strike twice, belting two home runs in his nation's semifinal meeting with Team Cuba. Turner belted his pair of longballs in the second and sixth innings, becoming just the second Team USA player to have a multi-run contest in the tournament behind Ken Griffey Jr. Furthermore, Turner's second on the day was his fourth of the tournament so far, which is the most hit by a Team USA player in a single World Baseball Classic.
