Jon Singleton’s eight-year road to last night’s otherworldly comeback outing was all but unobstructed. Nevertheless, the Club’s former number-one-ranked prospect persevered and exploded for a career-best, two-home-run and five-RBI performance in just his third outing since rejoining the Houston Astros this year. After his first bomb in the second inning, the crowd roared, but after he followed it up with another longball one inning later, Minute Maid Park erupted. Everyone loves a redemption arc, and in the words of Club manager Dusty Baker, “That was a great night.”
