With Harrison Bader standing on third and one out in the second inning, the Venezuelan native was looking to cash in the run. Pereira swung at the first pitch from Washington Nationals MacKenzie Gore that was straight to the shortstop. Bader scored after the catcher was unable to hold onto the ball at the plate, giving Pereira his first career RBI.
