Age is just a number, and on Monday, the famous Loyola University Chicago chaplain, Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, BVM, was called upon to throw out the ceremonial first pitch for the Chicago Cubs. The spry 104-year-old took the mound at Wrigley Field in front of 35,097 fans, wearing a smile from ear-to-ear. The local celebrity delivered an underhand pitch right down the middle as the crowd cheered her on. It is the third time Sister Jean has thrown a first pitch for the team, last doing the honor in September 2022.
