As part of his Atlanta Braves victory over the Washington Nationals, 5-3, Acuña Jr. kicked his 73rd bag of the 2023 Major League Baseball campaign, eclipsing Otis Nixon’s single-season Braves record of 72 set in 1991. What’s more, the 25-year-old, Venezuela native scored his 148th and 149th runs of the year, increasing his lead over second-place Freddie Freeman to a sizeable 18 with just one game remaining.
