Cristian Javier found his rhythm quickly after receiving a 4-0 lead in the first inning thanks to Kyle Tucker and José Abreu. The four-year hurler quieted the Twins through five innings of one-hit, nine-strikeout baseball. It was the 26-year-old’s third straight Postseason start of five or more scoreless frames, joining Christy Mathewson (1905), Whitey Ford (1960-61), and Kenny Rogers (2006). Javier is the only pitcher in League history to toss three such Postseason starts without allowing more than one hit.
