Third consecutive victory at Imola

Max Verstappen got back to winning ways as he claimed his third consecutive victory at Imola by winning the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DELL'EMILIA-ROMAGNA 2024. The Dutchman qualified for the race in pole position and equalled Ayrton Senna's record of eight consecutive pole positions; a fitting tribute to an F1 icon on the 30th anniversary of his passing. Verstappen's weekend was to get even better, as he produced an impressive drive to secure the 59th race win of his career. The Dutch driver held off a late charge from Lando Norris to claim victory by +0.725s and secure his fifth win of the season. He now sits on 161 points and has established a 48-point lead over second placed Charles Leclerc.
