Max Verstappen・George Russell

Max Verstappen & George Russell produced one of the most dramatic moments in F1® qualifying history as they were involved in a ‘dead heat’ for pole position. The pair lit up qualifying in Canada and were involved in one of the most fascinating battles for pole position in the history of the sport. Both drivers qualified with the exact same lap time of 1 minute 12 seconds, a truly rare occurrence and one that stunned F1® fans around the world. Despite setting the same qualifying time, it was Russell who was awarded the pole position as he set his time first. A truly unbelievable qualifying moment which has occurred for the for the first time since the FORMULA 1 EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX 1997, where there was also a ‘dead heat’ for pole position.
