It’s not every day Baseball fans are treated to a first pitch from a living legend. Former Birmingham Black Barons and St. Louis Cardinals hurler Bill Greason was tabbed with first-pitch honors before the start of Thursday’s game at Rickwood Field. The oldest living Negro Leagues player, at 99 years old, wound up his arm and gave his best effort towards home plate in the ballpark he once played at. “It was a pleasure to be a part of such an experience that we had here,” Greason said.
