Yandy Diaz made Tampa Bay Rays history on Friday night. Leading off the third inning against the Washington Nationals, the 32-year-old laced a single to center field to extend his hitting streak to a now franchise-record 20 games. Diaz passes the former mark of 19 games held by Jason Bartlett since 2009. The Rays would also go on to win, 3-1. “It was a beautiful feeling,” Diaz said. “You always want to break some records, and when you break a record like that, you’ve got to celebrate it.”
