Facing off against the New York Yankees, the slugger drove in an RBI single in the third inning of the game. The hit marked the 1,000th of Devers career, making him just the sixth Red Sox player to reach that total before turning 28. To add to his historic day, Devers later hit a solo homer in the fifth inning.
