Hard work and perseverance has paid off for Toronto Blue Jays starter Yariel Rodríguez, for he is now a winner in the big leagues. The 27-year-old Cuban rookie tossed six innings of scoreless ball, allowing just one hit to the Seattle Mariners lineup. Rodríguez certainly has seemed to turn a corner in July, allowing just one run in 12 2/3 innings for a 0.71 ERA in two starts.
