Monday saw one of the quirkiest firsts in MLB history. On June 26, the game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox was suspended in the second inning due to rain with then-Toronto catcher Danny Jansen at the plate. Jansen had since been traded by Toronto to Boston and when the game resumed on Monday, he was in the lineup as the Red Sox catcher. He became the first player in MLB history to appear in the same game for both teams with Toronto’s Daulton Varsho pinch-hitting for Jansen’s original at-bat.
