Survives Verstappen onslaught to keep title dreams alive

Lando Norris produced an impressive drive to hold off rival Max Verstappen and keep his title hopes alive thanks to a P2 finish at the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE LA CIUDAD DE MÉXICO 2024. The British driver was engaged in some thrilling racing with Max Verstappen and was able to fend off the Dutchman to claim an important podium finish. The urge to win from both drivers was there for all to see, with some exciting driving that saw both cars go off the track on lap 10, with Norris being forced off by Verstappen, leading to a 10 second penalty. Norris held firm to secure McLaren F1 Team’s first podium in Mexico since Ayrton Senna in 1991. This finish closed the gap on Max Verstappen to 47 points in the 2024 FIA Formula 1 Drivers’ World Championship.
