From 17th to 1st

Max Verstappen produced a wet weather masterclass to claim victory from P17 at the FORMULA 1 GRANDE PRÊMIO DE SÃO PAULO 2024. The Dutch driver showed incredible determination and sensational wet-weather driving to battle back from a P17 start and claim a historic victory at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace circuit. Verstappen dazzled the Brazilian crowd with a masterclass that saw him produce some exciting overtakes and gain the race lead on lap 43 – moving up 16 places to claim top spot. His victory broke Michael Schumacher’s record of most consecutive days in the lead of the FIA Formula 1® Drivers’ World Championship as he closes in on his 4th title.
