Ryan Kalkbrenner’s commanding performance in his NBA debut against the Brooklyn Nets proved why he earned a spot in the Charlotte Hornets starting lineup. The 7-foot-1 rookie controlled the paint, recording 11 rebounds and 10 points in a 136-117 victory. Kalkbrenner became the first Hornets player since 2004 (Emeka Okafor) to log a double-double in his first career game.
