The lead didn't last long for the New York Mets in the top of the second inning as James Wood responded immediately for Washington in the bottom half. With the bases loaded, the Nationals star hammered an offspeed pitch to left field and saw the ball ricochet off the wall. Wood turned on the jets for an inside-the-park homer and his first career grand slam in a 9-6 win.
