Cristopher Sánchez

Cristopher Sánchez pitched like a true ace, hurling seven shutout frames with nine strikeouts in a 3-0 Philadelphia win. With his scoreless streak at 44 and 2/3 innings, Sánchez broke Grover Alexander’s mark (1911) for the longest by a Phillies pitcher. He also joins Orel Hershiser (1988) as the second in MLB lore to not allow a run in a calendar month (min. 4 starts).
