George Lombard Jr. etched his name into the New York Yankees storied history in a 6-1 triumph over the Colorado Rockies. The Club's top prospect launched a 353-foot blast for his first career grand slam and the franchise's first of the season. Lombard became the youngest Yankees player to hit a granny (21 years and 99 days old) since Mickey Mantle (20 years, 283 days).
