Athletics southpaw Jeffrey Springs obviously studied the scouting report ahead of his start against the New York Yankees, guiding a 1-0 win. The North Carolina native tossed seven shutout innings, including six no-hit frames, and struck out six in the victory. Springs’ gem gave the Athletics their first 1-0 win over the Yankees since April 25, 1979.
