Jacob deGrom

Jacob deGrom ended his 2018 season with eight shutout innings to cap a historical season on the mound. The Cy Young hopeful earned his 10th win of the season and became the fastest Met to reach 1,000 career strikeouts on his final pitch of the year. deGrom posted the sixth-lowest ERA, 1.70, of any qualified pitcher since MLB lowered the mound to its current height in 1969. He also recorded 269 strikeouts, fourth-most in Mets history, and a single-season record 24 consecutive quality starts.
