Whit Merrifield

Whit Merrifield becomes the first Royal in franchise history to record five hits in a game since Hal McRae went 5-for-5 on July 2, 1977. Merrifield, who also had a double in the contest, finished 5-for-6 with a run scored and two RBI. The Royals' 10-5 win over the White Sox marked the first time in franchise history that a player recorded six at-bats in a game.
