Justin Verlander became just the seventh pitcher in MLB history to strike out 200 batters in nine seasons. The right-hander has led the League in strikeouts five times in his career and only trails teammate Gerrit Cole for the lead in 2019. En route to reaching the milestone, Verlander struck out 10 batters over six innings and picked up his MLB-leading 15th win over the season.
