CG shutout leads 4-0 Opening Day® win

Sandy Koufax - MLB TOPPS NOW® Turn Back The Clock - Card 15 - Print Run: 365

APRIL 14, 1964 — As the 1963 NL Cy Young and MVP Awards winner, Sandy was a no-brainer to take the mound for the Dodgers opener in the 1964 season. What may be surprising to fans to learn is that this was the first time Sandy was called upon for Opening Day. The southpaw made the most of his opportunity – blanking the Cardinals, 4-0, in the complete-game victory.
