Alec – the Phillies 24-year-old prospect – couldn’t have picked a better time to have a big day at the plate. As Philadelphia looked to avoid a series sweep by the Braves, the third baseman went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, with one of those hits being his first big-league home run. Alec’s solo shot in the top of the second gave his club the early advantage and they held onto that lead for a 5-4 win.
