MAY 4, 2009 — Ryan Howard matched Phillies legend Mike Schmidt for the most grand slams in franchise history when he struck a game-altering big fly in the fifth inning of a 6-1 win. Howard's 7th career grand slam broke a narrow 2-1 game open and led the Phillies to a win over the St. Louis Cardinals. The record-tying blast brought the towering first baseman's early season totals to an impressive .293 batting average and 19 RBI.
