A day after outlasting the Pirates in a 17-13 slugfest, the Tigers lineup proved they had some gas in their tank on Saturday afternoon. Facing starter Derek Holland, four of the first five Tigers batters hit home runs, leaping out to a 5-0 lead before the first out was recorded. Niko Goodrum led off the contest with a solo shot, and after a Jonathan Schoop single, Detroit’s Miguel Cabrera, C.J. Cron and Jeimer Candelario went back-to-back-to-back. It was the first time the Tigers hit four 1st inning homers since 1974.
