After coming on as a defensive replacement in the top of the ninth, Michael stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the frame with two outs and runners on second and third. Having gone 0-for-7 to start the season, the 27-year-old catcher's first hit of the year couldn't have been timed any better. Perez laced reliever Zack Britton's offering into shallow right to score Brandon Lowe as the Rays came back to defeat the Yankees 4-3.
