Cristian Javier

Cristian Javier returned from the Houston Astros alternate site to make his third start of the 2021 season. The rookie right-hander impressed, striking out nine batters over five scoreless frames. Javier also became the first Houston Astros pitcher since 1986 to record the first eight outs by way of strikeout. The record was previously set by former left-handed hurler Jim Deshaies. Javier now holds and impressive 2-0 record with a 1.32 ERA over 13.2 innings pitched this season.
