Ken Griffey Jr.

AUGUST 20, 2001 — With one out in the bottom of the 11th inning and the scored tied, 2-2, Ken Griffey Jr. steppedup to the plate against St. Louis Cardinals hurler, Andy Benes. Benes fired a full-count, outside fastball which found enough of the plate for Griffey Jr. to smack it to the center-field warning track. Jim Edmonds was unable to make the leaping catch and the ball ricocheted off the wall into no-mans land in left-center field. Ken instinctively darted around the bases with no hesitation and sealed the Reds 3-2 win with a walk-off, inside-the-park home run.
