Carlton Fisk

In the early September contest between the Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals, Carlton Fisk connected for his 300th career home run. The Bellows Falls, Vermont, backstop reached the three-century mark in the top of the fourth inning off of Royals hurler Danny Jackson. Fisk locked in on a fastball and sent it over the left-center-field wall in front of 34,391 spectators at Royals Stadium. Despite this historic achievement, the White Sox fell to the Royals, 4-2.
