Go ahead, 2-run HR clinches NL East Division
Mike Schmidt - 2021 MLB TOPPS NOW® Turn Back The Clock - Card 187 - PR: 478
The 1980 regular season finale had major Postseason implications for both the Philadelphia Phillies and the Montréal Expos. If the Expos were victorious, they would force a sudden-death game the next day to determine the NL East Division winner. Mike Schmidt prevented this opening with a go-ahead, two-run homer in the top of the 11th inning. With that lead, the Phillies would take the extra-innings win 6-4 over the Expos and clinch the NL East Division title.
