Spencer Turnbull

Up until Tuesday night's contest against the Seattle Mariners, Spencer Turnbull has never gone more than seven innings in any of his preceding 49 Major League starts. The 28-year-old hurler shattered his previous habits by tossing the fifth no-hitter of the 2021 season as he dealt nine masterful innings with nine strikeouts and just two free bases. Turnbull's gem was the eighth no-hitter in Detroit Tigers history, the last was thrown on May 7, 2011 by two-time AL Cy Young Award winner, Justin Verlander.
