Shane Bieber

Despite his efforts receiving a losing decision, Shane Bieber's efforts on Opening Day placed him on an exclusive list in MLB history. The snow appeared to have little effect on Bieber's effectiveness, as the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner racked up 12 strikeouts over 6 innings pitched. With Shane's 14 strikeout start on Opening Day 2020, he is now one of 4 pitchers to record at least 12 strikeouts in multiple Opening Day starts. The other hurlers include Nolan Ryan, Bob Gibson, and Randy Johnson.
