Taijuan Walker has been a major bright spot for the New York Mets rotation this season as the 28-year-old hurler entered his Tuesday night start with the fifth lowest ERA in the National League. The Shreveport, Louisiana, product scattered two runs over the course of seven innings pitched and fanned a career-high 12 batters to pave the way for the 3-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs. Walker’s signing has been a major part to the early 2021 success in Queens. Just ask Mets manager Luis Rojas, “We hit the jackpot with this guy,” Rojas said. “He’s been outstanding for us.”
