Five years after being selected in the first round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers, Matt Manning made his MLB debut against the Angels on Thursday night. The Sacramento, CA, hurler entered his inauguration as the organization’s number three prospect and number 18 on the MLB top 100 prospect list. Manning scattered four hits over five innings of two-run ball and struck out three batters. The 6-foot-6 righty flashed a fastball that reached 96.6 mph and appeared to get more comfortable as he got deeper into his start.
