Marcus Stroman set the tone for the New York Mets on the mound in their 7-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. The Medford, New York, product struck out seven Reds hitters over eight scoreless innings of one-hit ball. Stroman surrendered the sole hit of the contest in the bottom of the third inning to Aristides Aquino for a lead-off knock. With this outstanding effort, Marcus lowered his 2021 ERA to a measly 2.79 over 103 and 1/3 innings of work.
