In the eighth inning of Marcus Stroman’s fantastic outing, he made one of the most impressive defensive plays you will ever see a pitcher make. Stroman fielded a hard comeback ground ball behind his back. The momentum from the crafty, defensive effort pulled Stroman toward third base, forcing him to make an off-balanced throw as he back peddled to keep himself upright. The ball took numerous hops to first base and beat the baserunner by a step. Marcus Stroman would go on to earn the win, as he allowed just one run on three hits and tallied five strikeouts in eight stellar innings pitched.
