Patrick Sandoval lifted the Angels to victory over the Minnesota Twins with the best start of his young career. The 24-year-old southpaw fell two outs shy of tossing the seventh complete-game no-hitter of the 2021 season. Sandoval lost the no-hit bid after a one-out double to Brent Rooker in the bottom of the ninth inning. Patrick finished the outing firing eight and 2/3 innings with a career-high 13 strikeouts to help seal the 2-1 Angels victory. “I felt really good out there and just crisp and in sync with my delivery, and I think that was the key as the game went on,” Sandoval said.
