The 48-year-old tossed 5.2 innings to earn the victory and, as a result, gave him and his brother, Joe Niekro, a combined MLB win total of 530. With this victory, the Niekro brothers surpassed Gaylord and Jim Perry for the most victories between a brother tandem.
