Carlos Sainz produced an 11-place comeback to take ‘Driver of the Day’ honours at the Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix 2021. The Scuderia Ferrari driver was forced to make an engine change after qualifying and found himself relegated to 19th place on the grid. However, Sainz rose to the challenge in damp conditions and produced overtake after overtake to race through the field. He took eighth place and four Championship points at the chequered flag.
