Verstappen started the race on pole but a great start from Hamilton saw him take the lead into turn one. An excellent pit strategy and a fast car soon saw the 24-year-old Dutch driver back in front of his British rival. With both drivers far ahead of the chasing pack, it soon became an epic duel between two Championship contenders.
