After a 9-0 lead over the Washington Nationals had slipped away over innings four through seven, New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor came to the rescue in the top of the ninth inning, hammering a two-run home run to right-field and providing the go-ahead runs the Mets would need to take the first game of the doubleheader. This wrapped up a great game at the plate for Francisco, who also drove in runs in the first and third innings.
