National League Rookie of the Month for August, Chicago Cubs first baseman Frank Schwindel has made his mark in the Windy City recently thanks to his ability to hit the longball, but on Saturday afternoon, “Frank the Tank” had to get the job done with his legs and determination. Tied 6-6 in the bottom of the ninth inning with runners on second and third and two outs, Schwindel sent a bouncing ball deep in the hole at shortstop, then raced down the first-base line, diving head-first to touch the bag and avoid the tag, allowing the winning run to score.
