After yesterday afternoon’s meeting between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Red Sox was finished, the Canadian-based Club had notched a few franchise firsts. Firstly, after hurler Zach Pop was awarded the win and reliever Jordan Romano recorded a save, it marked the first contest in Blue Jays history that Canadian-born pitchers picked up both a win and a save. Furthermore, after their 6-3 victory, the Blue Jays had cemented an all-time successful season against the Red Sox, going 16-3 throughout the year.
